Cricoa and the Magic lute

Play as Cricoa, a bard whose music once went unheard, until the forests whispers spoke of the deity Laoutos enchanted Lute. Claiming the instrument as his own Cricoa angers Laouto, she sends the creatures of the forest after you to take the lute back. Your lute becomes your weapon. Defend your lute, escape the forest, and complete your masterpiece.

Cricoa and the Magic Lute was inspired by Celtic music. This genre of music inspired the entirety of our game from the musical key combination mechanic, the main character (a cricket) to the joyful fantasy environment. We wanted the game to be entirely about the music, which informed our choice to have the players end goal be to create their own Celtic music.
